Spokes-Women Christmas Carols

All Words By Pat Gwozdz

Polar Bears
(Sung to the Tune of Jingle Bells)

Dashing through the cold
Or Riding in the rain
All the roads they go
Happy just the same

The wind may sway the bikes
Their lips may turn to ice
But their motives never dim
As they ride on to sign in

Oh Polar Bears,
Polar Bears,
Ridin’ Winter Season!

They be crazy
As we be lazy
Cause it ain’t worth Freezin’

Polar Bears,
Polar Bears,
Ain’t it all just grand?

Fightin’ wind
And frost bite skin
Lookin’ like the Michelin Men!

Noses bright as flame
Fingers stiff in pain
So they spend much loot
For heated gloves and suit

Setting high the dial
But after one mile
The heat they cannot stand
As they cook just like a leg of lamb!

Ohhhhh Polar Bears
Polar Bears
Steering is not easy

Toes are numb
While Noses run
Toasted like a sticky bun

Polar Bears
Polar Bears
A cold you will most likely catch

Just to score
A point or two
And get another small blue Patch!

Holly Jolly Spokes-Women
(Sung to tune of Holly Jolly Christmas)

We’re the Spokes-Women Club Riders
And in case you didn’t know
We ride far
Without a car
To places they won’t go!

We’re the Spokes-Women Club Riders
And in case you didn’t hear
Off you’ll ride
With great pride
With friends who are sincere!

Ho Ho away we go
On our fast machines
Somebody waits for you
Though you loose your windscreen!

We’re the Spokes-Women Club Riders
And it is often said
No better club
To eat some grub
In colors that are red!

Cycle Ride
(Sung to Sleigh Ride)

Just hear those engines hummin’ as they start runnin’ in tune
Come on it’s lovely weather for a cycle ride together with you.
Outside the sun is shinin’ or it could be a monsoon
Come on it’s lovely weather ridin’ dry or wet with you.

Rev it up, rev it up, rev it up, let’s go
You’re ridin too slow,
That’s cause our leader
Says it sooooo

Give it gas, give it gas, give it gas, she’s blunt
Get up to the front
No stoppin’ to eat or pee
At that restaurant!

Our gals are strong and sturdy, and very purdy, it’s true
Come on it’s lovely weather for a cycle ride together with you.
We ride our own machines though cagers often stare
We never worry what they think even with our helmet hair!

There’s a party at the home of Pesacretas
Where the club comes to eat and drink cold cervezas!
It will merely be like a big buffet where eating is nonstop
At the end of the day we’ll watch the girls all drop…plop, plop plop!

There’s a happy feeling nothing in the world can bring
Unless it’s ridin’ a Harley or Honda Wing,
We will cherish these days for all our time when we are old and grey
Remember no better friends will ever come your way
Remember no better friends will ever come your way!

Our club is extraordinary and very remarkable too
Just take one look at all the faces round the room
And as our Chorus ends these little crazy tunes
We wish the gifts of Health and Happiness to you!!!!!!
