The road less traveled…

This is the time of year where everyone is so busy and it’s the perfect time of year for us as motorcyclists! The Springtime rains have tapered off, it’s not the hot and humid days of summer yet, just great riding weather for all types of riders…street, track, dirt, you name it!

When the weather’s so good, the possibilities of so many destinations to decide on, and so many roads to take to get there…it’s almost overwhelming the choices that we can make. Do you want to take a leisurely ride and take your time getting to where you want to go? Taking the opportunity to enjoy the scenery pass you by…smelling the honeysuckles that are just blooming and the horses that are running along the fences as you ride along? How about getting to where you want to get to the quickest way possible? Flying down the highway feeling like you are part of the clouds and not even touching the ground…feeling the wind surround you as the engine hums beneath you, making you feel as if you are connected to your machine. How we want to get somewhere on our motorcycles certainly makes a good pseudonym for our life’s path too.

Just look at how some of us travel to our meeting every month, or to a sponsored event for that matter. Sometimes we want to connect with one another to share the experience of the ride. Other times, we want to take the ride alone and on our own schedule, lost in our thoughts and letting the road lead us where it may. Eventually, we all end up at the same destination, but perhaps arrive there at different times, different ways, and by different means. No matter how individually diverse we all are and how different our journey is, we still arrive at the same destination, armed with different experiences on how we got there. The beginning and end may be the same, but we infuse the middle with our own flavor and filling, making it unique and our own.

Well, keep filling that middle with your unique stories and experiences, and share that with the rest of us – it makes for a great time and gives all of us a small glimpse into the flavor and filling of you and your essence…

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

Robert Frost

"If you don't know where you are going, any road will take you there."
Lewis Carroll
